What is SAP Solution Manager used for?

SAP Solution Manager is used as the central portal through which SAP environments are managed. In addition to being the central communications point for SAP Service, technical monitoring of distributed systems and supporting the introduction of SAP applications are just two of the other, many jobs of SAP Solution Manager

NOTE: All corrected software packages (including support packages) for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) and subsequent versions plus all the applications based on SAP NetWeaver (including SAP Business Suite 2005) released after April 02 2007 are only available via Maintenance Optimizer in SAP Solution Manager.
